Progressive Performance just opened its doors in Mill Creek, and if you’ve been looking for a gym that actually makes sense for where you’re at in life — this one’s worth a look.
We’re not a big box gym. We don’t do 30-person group fitness classes or hand you a generic program and wish you luck. What we do is small group strength training, capped at seven people per session, with coaches who are there to actually coach — not just count reps from across the room.
If you’re over 40 and you’ve been putting your fitness on the back burner, or you’ve tried other gyms and felt like the programming wasn’t built for your body, Progressive Performance Mill Creek was built with you in mind.

ToggleWhy Mill Creek Needed This
The Silver Firs area has plenty of fitness options. What it’s been missing is a training environment designed specifically for adults who want to build real strength — not just get sweaty three times a week.
Most gyms treat everyone the same regardless of age, injury history, or fitness background. That works fine for a 24-year-old with no movement history to speak of. It doesn’t work as well for someone who’s 48, has a desk job, and hasn’t lifted seriously in ten years.
Your body at 40, 50, or 60 has different needs. Different recovery demands. Different movement patterns that need to be accounted for before you start loading a barbell. We built our entire program around that reality.
How We Work With Adults Over 40
Every new client at Progressive Performance Mill Creek starts with a 60-minute private movement assessment before joining any group session. We look at your posture, how you move, where you’re compensating, and what your goals are. From there, your coach builds your program around what your body actually needs.
This matters more than most people realize. A lot of adults over 40 have movement habits — rounded shoulders from years at a desk, hip tightness from sitting, an old knee or shoulder issue that never fully resolved — that need to be addressed before heavier training begins. Ignoring those things and jumping straight into a group program is how people get hurt.
We take the corrective exercise piece seriously. It’s built into how we train, not tacked on as an afterthought.
Small Group Training — Seven People Max
Our small group sessions run with a maximum of seven clients. That’s it. Your coach knows your name, your movement history, and what you’re working on — and adjusts what you’re doing based on how you’re feeling that day.
This is the model we’ve run successfully at our Woodinville location for years, and the one our clients there say they can’t imagine training any other way.
1-on-1 Personal Training
For clients who want the full attention of a dedicated coach every session, we offer one-on-one personal training as well. This is a good fit if you’re working through a specific injury, returning to training after a long break, or simply want the most direct path to your goals.
Nutrition Coaching
Training hard and eating poorly is a losing combination regardless of age. Our nutrition coaching is practical — we work with your actual lifestyle, not a rigid meal plan that falls apart the moment you have a dinner with family or a work trip.
The Coaches
Every trainer at Progressive Performance goes through an onboarding process run personally by Jimmy McCurry, the founder. Credentials range from NASM certifications to Master’s degrees in Kinesiology — but beyond certifications, every coach learns the same system of exercise progressions, corrective posture work, and client-first coaching that defines how we train at every location.
When you train at Progressive Performance Mill Creek, you’re getting the same standard of coaching that built a 5.0-star reputation at our Woodinville, Kirkland, and Redmond Ridge locations over the past several years.
The 28-Day Jumpstart
Not sure if this is the right fit? We offer a 28-day Jumpstart program — a fully structured introduction to training with us, starting with your movement assessment and progressing through your first month of sessions.
If you don’t see measurable improvement in your strength, flexibility, body composition, or how you feel in 28 days, you get a full refund. We back the program because it works.
Frequently Asked Questions — Personal Training in Mill Creek, WA
Q: Is Progressive Performance Mill Creek open now? Yes — we recently opened our Mill Creek location serving the Silver Firs area and surrounding communities. We’re currently accepting new clients for small group training, 1-on-1 personal training, and nutrition coaching.
Q: Do I need fitness experience to start at Progressive Performance? No experience needed. Your first session is a private movement assessment, not a group workout. We evaluate where you are physically before you ever train with the group. We meet you where you are and build from there.
Q: What’s the difference between small group training and a regular gym in Mill Creek? At most gyms you show up, use equipment on your own, and hope you’re doing things right. In our small group sessions — capped at seven people — a coach watches every rep, knows your movement history, and is there to correct, encourage, and progress you every session.
Q: How far is Progressive Performance from Silver Firs? Our Mill Creek location is conveniently located for residents of Silver Firs, with easy access from Highway 527 and the Mill Creek Town Center area.
Q: What age group does Progressive Performance primarily work with? Our sweet spot is adults between 40 and 65. That said, we work with anyone who’s serious about building strength and moving better — age is less important than attitude.
